According to online charter portal Avinode demand for private jet charter is poised to rist this month due to the peak of the vacation season in the Northern hemisphere. Avinode’s demand index jumped 20 points for the next 30 days, from 162 to 182 today. Which is about 68 points higher than it was a year ago.

Charter price projections seem to be climbing as well with their global price index up almost 3 points from a month ago. They project rates increasing slightly more in the U.S. market than in Europe. As an example the rates for a Cessna Citation Excel increased in the U.S. over the past 3 months by 7.8% to $4,232 average per hour.

The biggest increase was for a Hawker 800 which saw its hourly rate rise to $4,417 per hour in the U.S., up about 10% while it jumped 50% internationally to $5,320 per hour. Guess everybody wanted to take a Hawker 800 to the Olympics!
