Citation CJ1
The Cessna Citation CJ1 is ideal for small companies and individuals looking for an economical private jet for mostly short range flights. For example, nonstop flights (five passengers) would include Los Angeles to Aspen and Washington, D.C. to Miami. For a slightly larger capacity the next step up is the Citation CJ2.
The CJ1 is the second generation of the extremely successful Citation series. It comes with all of the advantages that the original Citation Jet offered, but with improvements in economy and performance. The goals in the redesign were simplicity, economy, and performance.
In the end they created a very fuel efficient jet, which burns 134 gallons of fuel per hour on average. The simplicity goal was accomplished by using Pro Line 21 avionics in the cockpit, which makes the CJ1 very easy to fly and allowing it to have a single pilot. This allows for reduced operating costs and cheaper private charter jet fares.
The interior is not to be overlooked however, providing a roomy cabin for 5 passengers. It includes a unique seal on the door to reduce noise during flight.
